I'm so glad to see you're a part of LB next year - all my favorite artists with lessons in one place! I'm also really excited Tam is letting each of you give away a place in LB 2015. That's something I'd love to win! You and Tam and Jane and..... I can't name thm all, but I am learning so much!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your instructor position in LifeBook! What an amazing, uplifting, resounding adventure this will be!
ReplyDeleteThis looks so exciting. Curious though about how much of the participation experience would be lost if one does not have a facebook account. I have tried to give facebook a chance and every time I go near it, some drama occurs. It's simply not worth it to me anymore. So what would be "lost" by not being able to participate in facebook (but still being involved on flickr)?
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of Facebook either and I have never felt like that interfered with the class. The class website has it's own gallery if you would like to post your artwork. It also has message boards for questions & comments. So you can do all your communicating through the class website rather than Facebook. Oh, you can also have class info sent to you via email (again no Facebook.) And I ASSURE you this is a drama-free class & community...it is the polar opposite in fact. I have loved it. Hope that helps.
DeleteErin B, Thank you. I had no doubt that the participants in the class would not introduce drama but it's hard to go into a space like facebook and remain untouched by associated drama. Believe me, I've tried more than once. So yes, this does help, a lot. I'll have to see if our budget can afford this. I've been unemployed for 6 years and would really like to start doing something for myself, something that isn't wrapped up in trying to find a job.
DeleteI'm in Lifebook 2014 and there are lots of other routes to connect with people if you're not using Facebook. There's a Flicker page where people share their art work and also Tamara's Willowing website. Tamara has many, many group pages there that are part of the Lifebook class--support for healing, new artists, artists who want more critique, seniors, etc. It's a wonderful experience for differing art techniques and support. I highly recommend it!
DeleteSatia, I'm not a spokesperson for Lifebook, I swear. I just believe Lifebook is a gem not to pass up. I know finances can be challenging especially if you are unemployed, but I wanted to share with you that this year long class is BY FAR the most bang for your buck compared to any other online class. It provides positive, uplifting, healing, playful lessons every week for a whole year. I think she offers payment plans as well. Good luck to you. Im not unemployed, but havent been able to work for 6 years due to medical issues so I know how not working can leave you feeling sometimes lost & without focus. Best wishes.
DeleteWell you know I love your art..the wonderful rich colors and the beautiful writing..I am thrilled you are in Life Book 2015..never stop the inspiration it is such a gift in my life.

ReplyDeleteSorry I deleted my comment but my avatar didn't upoad.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, back to why I'm really here. Creative lettering and writing is JUST what I need to put the finishing touches to my pages, and you're going to teach us how to do it in LB 2015! I'm only 3 months into art journalling so I have SO much to learn, I hope I'll be picked - but if not, I can always sign up! I simply can't wait. Thanks so much for giving us all the chance to win a free place.
Dear Joanne,
ReplyDeleteI am taking Life Book 2014 right now. I've never done any mixed media, etc. until I took this course. I really need to take Life Book 2015. I do so enjoy this workshop. I'm learning (and relearning) more about myself especially since I was in an accident which left me with a mild brain injury. I've been in a lot of therapy since, but Life Book has literally given me small pieces of my past life back. This group has become my family and I would dearly love to win a spot so I may continue along my path. Thanks kindly.
I am so looking forward to be joining lifebook2015! So many great teachers, including you!

ReplyDeleteThank you for the opportunity to maybe win a spot in LifeBook 2015! I consider myself a good writer when choosing words, but that's where it stops. I can't seem to get the words on the page and have them convey what I was thinking and feeling. I would love to learn more about how to artfully express the words my brain comes up with but my hands can't seem to translate to the page. Thank you again for the opportunity. :-)
ReplyDeleteKim DuPree again - didn't have an option to enter email address and I don't have a URL to submit. I wasn't able to use the other options, even though I do have a TypePad account, just no active blog. I am a member of the Art Heart Healing group at Willowing, and Tam has my email address in the remote chance I win. :-)

ReplyDeleteI would be so excited to participate as one of the giveaway spots for Life Book 2015. I have a girl friend who partipcated in one of the previous years and her artwork from it is awe- inspiring. She also talked about how it fueled her soul creativily and helped her feel centred in her life. This year has brought many changes and challenges. I have tried to work through it by investing in myself with as many tutorials and classes as I can. However, being on a budget and having a growing family ( 2 1/2 years and 7 months) sometimes it is not feasible to enrol in the classes that might give you the biggest challenges, best rewards, and contemplative soul searching. I hope to be chosen as a candidate for one of the sponsored spots as it would greatly impact my day to day life and growth in a positive way. Thank you so much for the opportunity and for putting together what looks to be a fantastic class.

ReplyDeleteHi Joanne!!!so happy to finally see your blog :D anyhoo, i'd really really love to join Lifebook because i want to learn, connect, create, be inspired and inspire :D
ReplyDeleteForget the new rollercoaster at Six Flags theme park. Lifebook 2015 looks like the ride to take. Fun, fantastic, occasionally nerve wracking and totally satifying!
ReplyDeleteI can't think of a better way to help me find my way back to my art. I took a reprieve 9 months ago to help my daughter and son-in-law with premature newborn twins. Now I'm struggling to find my voice where I left off. I know it's there (like riding a bike), I just can't seem to tap into it. I think these structured lessons could be the answer.
ReplyDeleteI want to win a spot in Lifebook because it a great way to learn from different styles and mediums from the teachers.
ReplyDeleteWill be so awesome having you as part of LB, really hoping I can be part of it this year

Life Book 2015 looks so awesome with all the different artists teaching this year. It promises to be a year of true learning and growing for those who can participate. I'd love to be among those who get to experience the joys of learning from a large group of great artists and teachers. So many different styles and techniques and areas in which to learn. So many awesome ways in which to grow as an artist and a person. I'd love to win a spot in this years class just for that reason. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the idea getting to learn from such a lineup of great talent. It's been fun checking out their blogs and seeing what they have to offer. I love your work, Joann, and can see how awesome it would be to implement your artful lettering style in our LB journals.
ReplyDeleteSo many great teachers, so much to learn, I would love to win!
ReplyDeleteIndepth art lessons from highly acclaimed teachers, inspiration, personal growth & a community of creative students = wow! Who wouldn't want to be apart of Life Book 2015!
ReplyDeleteJust beginning this journey. Would love the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win a spot on Lifebook 2015. I signed up for the first one in 2012 and it was a year of learning and inspiration. I would love to participate again!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to win this beautiful gift of Artistry and Learning. I have been disabled with a rather nasty disease for several years now. My doctors told me to get back into my Art! That it would help with my physical pain. And with R.S.D. you have a huge amount of physical pain. But.... it worked. Couldn't believe that it worked. After many surgery's and drug therapy, I have come to a place now, where I would love to give back. I would love to be able to pass on to others what I learned from my own doctors. About pain, how to live with it.... how to lower it.... and how to create.... again. Your classes would give me the level of teaching I am in need of for my desires to come about. Please consider me when you choose your students for life book 2014. It would be such a blessing to learn from such talented and gracious women. Thanks again. Donna
